Refugee Week: 15th -21st June
Last week was focused on celebrating refugees, and understanding the journey they take. It can often be an exploration of the issues, challenges, and contributions that refugees make as well as the support needed to stand together, learn, and understand their experiences. Read more

World Refugee Day was marked on Saturday 20th June with a new Pillar being unveiled at The Milton Keynes Rose. Refugees Welcome MK have held gatherings at the Milton Keynes Rose in previous years to mark the date. Read more

COVID-19 honours nomination form
You can use this form to nominate someone who lives in the UK for a national honour for their contribution to the response to the coronavirus crisis. This contribution could include volunteering in the community or for service organisations in support of those affected by COVID-19 and other. Read more

#MK20in20 ‘at home’ 
MK Council have adapted this campaign to support people to be active at home or in the spaces in which they live. Lets encourage as many local people as possible to support one another, and share their variety of ideas to be active, both inside and outside of their homes. Find out more

Call for Participants: Mobilising young people to Climate Action 
Big Local Conniburrow have teamed up with Clover Hogan at the Force of Nature movement aimed at helping young people to realise their change-making potential; take action on the climate crisis; and become custodians of a future by their own design. There will be an online session taking place next Friday 26th June and the organisers are looking for participants who live in Milton Keynes. Charity shop volunteer matching service launched
The Charity Retail Association, in partnership with Wil-U, has launched a new service to match prospective charity shop volunteers with local retailers.  Members of the public who are potentially interested in volunteering can sign up in a very simple and short process.

BucksWorkability Mapping Survey
We would like to gather information on the services available in Buckinghamshire that provide disabled people with employment related support. The information gathered will be used to create a service map which will help disabled people to easily find the most appropriate employment support service available. Complete the survey

Sport England Community Emergency Fund boosted by £15m
Our Community Emergency Fund is being topped up by an additional £15 million of National Lottery money to meet the demand from organisations delivering community sport and physical activity.

Launch of Edge Post Covid-19 Revival Fund – How to build back better
This is a one-off fund with up to £250,000 of grant funding available.  Applications are welcomed for grants of between £10,000 and £50,000. The purpose of the fund  is to address the educational challenges arising from the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis. Read more
